NDNT: April 25, 2023

Spring is here! We are so excited to begin work on Phase 2 of the New Day Nature Trails restoration project with the DNR. Our priorities for this year are:

1. Establish new walking trails
2. Continue to eliminate invasive species
3. Tree work (both removals and plantings)

We have such diverse sections of the property to restore and enjoy! We hope to develop the main prairie section with grasses and wildflowers, which could look something like this:

There will also be a couple of sections that are more wooded with openings that might look like this:

Be sure to check out the bird sanctuary area just east of the church parking lot. What a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the birds as they visit the feeders and nest boxes. We are also grateful for the recent donation of a bench which is nestled between the basketball hoop and the main trailhead:
